Monday, November 22, 2010

A special assembly was held this morning to introduce our
new school-wide student recognition program called Cougar PAWS.
This program is based on the 10 OCDSB Character Traits
which are listed in each student's agenda, displayed in classrooms and discussed with students regularly.
In addition, we recognized the importance of Bullying Awareness Week, which has just concluded.
It was a great way to start a Monday!

Don't forget that this Friday, November 26 is a PD Day, and there will be no school for students.

Also, mark your calendars for these yearly favourite events, coming up in December:

- Multicultural Lunch on Thursday, December 9 (volunteers welcome - please call the office)

- Holiday Concert on Thursday, December 16 from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. in our gymnasium.

Our Progress Reports were sent home last Thursday, November 4.  You will have noticed the different format for this report.  There will be two more Report Cards sent home - one in February and one in March (these will follow the old Report Card format).

As a follow up to our Progress Reports going home, we will be holding Parent Teacher Interviews on Thursday, November 11 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. and on Friday, November 12 from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m.
Please note that there is no school on Friday, November 12 for students.

Our entire school enjoyed an exciting Inuit dancing and drumming performance given by the grandfather of one of our grade one students last Thursday.

We will be doing Photo retakes and Group Photos on Monday, November 15.
